Between the lines: Trauma, resistance and safety in the context of child sexual abuse

Cathy Want is manager at Rosie’s Place, a non-government sexual assault counselling and advocacy service for children and non –offending parents. Cathy is a trainer, researcher and has developed innovative resources for work in child sexual assault. In this presentation Cathy closely examines the range of tactics offenders use to condition the child and isolate them from protective relationships. She offers advice about respectfully engaging with a family and the ‘how to’ of developing a plan centred around a child’s safety.
