On 13 – 14 November more than 320 practitioners from across the state came together for the second internal conference dedicated to child protection practice. The theme captured the three key elements of holistic practice; thinking, feeling and acting. As a celebration of our people, practice and the children and families we serve, the conference message was beautifully summarised by the conference’s young MC, Leticia Quince stating ‘Be proud of what you do! You do make a difference’. A very powerful statement from a young person in care. The energy in the room was amazing and staff appreciated the time to connect with their colleagues, and hear from some of the best and brightest minds in child protection from here and overseas. Children featured throughout the two days in a series of performances that helped everyone remember why we were all there.
