Malanee Bugilmah Intensive Family Based Service (IFBS) in honour of their 20-year anniversary.
Opening its doors in 1994, IFBS caseworkers work intensively with Aboriginal families over a 3-4 month period to help them increase child safety and reduce any risk of significant harm.
IFBS is now the longest running program of its kind for Aboriginal families in not only NSW, but all of Australia. Today FACS has six established IFBS services and four new sites in partnership with NGOs. In the past year alone close to 500 Aboriginal children and their families have received support from an IFBS service.
